A girl can flirt, bat her eyes and purse her lips in just enough measure when she knows you’re looking. She understands the exact geometric calculations of how to move her hips; how to dance, how to extend her wrist when she orders her drink to gently sip while maybe, just maybe, saying the right things. Batting her eyes, she has been training herself to be naked before you, baring breasts and all.
Because of this, girls are at the lowest end of the food chain next to boys, men and at times, their biggest foes are – women themselves.
No one has a lonelier upbringing than a girl. No one tells you how to be a woman, they just tell you what you’re going to do when you become a woman. Get married, get pregnant, cook and raise a family. Or work and be alone. Or work and have a family. No one teaches you how to harness the strength of becoming a real woman.
No one tells you that you can cry in public and still command them. No one tells you you will never be ugly because you’re designed to be beautiful – that while men have to spend thousands on protein shakes to look good, all a girl has to do is stick her finger down her throat and make a wish.
No one tells you that you have every right to choose your partner whether sexually or romantically. Yes, who you fuck, who you love determines your worth but when you make that choice on who to fuck and/or love, you are determining your worth for yourself. It is in our genetics that women be hard critics of their lovers and the defeat can be hard to bear because love tells you you are so sure. But that is our magnificent cross to bear – choosing the right man to carry our genetics and prolong the existence of our species. She’s just trying to do what she’s meant to do best and that can make her weary.
Us women, we learn everything we know – of our self-defence – through love and broken hearts. Love is our only happiness but we also learn the world through great sadness.
So while you are a girl, or a boy in love with a girl, LEARN HOW TO RESPECT US, PLS.
A girl will always be able to anticipate the kind of life she wants for herself. We have expectations built in like that. So while we are standing, looking pretty and waiting for things we may never possess, and that includes happiness – try a little tenderness. That doesn’t mean you have to go easy on these young girls. They will become women regardless and the rest of their future is entirely up to them.
But until she becomes a woman, you just don’t know what you’re going to get from making that girl happy.
